Not only do I love hearing Dean Martin sing that song, but its quite appropriate for the weather right now!
When I woke up today around 10:30am this was the temperature:
That weather advisory you see? Thats for the wind chills be seeing tonight:
Brisk conditions to envelop southcentral Alaska...
An Arctic airmass over northern Alaska is beginning to move towards
the Matanuska Valley and Anchorage bowl which will result in a modest
blast of cold temperatures. A strengthening pressure gradient between
inland high pressure and a low pressure system that develops over the
northern Gulf will begin to produce gusty winds across the region by
this evening. This coupled with the cold airmass will create wind
chills of 15 to 30 degrees below zero across the Anchorage bowl and
Matanuska Valley before winds begin to diminish on Thursday.
Those venturing outdoors for appreciable periods of time are reminded
of the risk of frostbite to exposed skin... and are encouraged to
dress in layers.
Also, the National Weather Service in Alaska just posted this statement about the temperatures that were seen in Interior Alaska this morning. How many of you lower 48'ers dont think your temps are so bad right now after seeing these ;) BTW, these are just the regular temps, NOT wind chill:
