Pretty Quiet Week

Things were pretty quiet around here this week. There were no more visits from Bobby the Bull Moose. I am hoping this means that he was strong enough to head further out for a better food source. There have been a lot of reports on the news this week about starving moose and I would like to believe that Bobby isn't one of them.

We've had snow showers to end out the week and start the weekend, which makes me happy. The Iditarod's ceremonial start was today in Anchorage, and the restart takes place tomorrow just north of my town, in Willow. There is PLENTY of snow for the race this year, and actually  there might be too much snow. Mushers were doing a lot of extra work getting their dogs ready for such a snowy trail.

As we do every year we'll be headed out to a lake in Willow that the teams cross. We make a day of it with friends and I get lots of time with my camera, so its a great day for all involved. I'll probably get Iditarod pictures posted starting late Sunday or sometime Monday.

I hope that wherever you are, your weekend is off to a great start! Here are some shots from around my house today.

Anchorage needs 9.6" of snow by June 1st to break the record for snowiest winter ever. I dont see that being a problem. March is usually one of our snowiest months, and we have been known to see some good snow storms in April also.
